Summary/Abstract: The article presents the results of preliminary research on mathematical terminology collected by M. A. Troc in “Nowy dykcjonarz” (1764). The terms of mathematical sciences, which in the eighteenth century included arithmetic, geometry, astronomy, astrology, geography, mechanics and optics, were shown in the context of changes caused by the seventeenth-century scientific revolution, and more widely, against the background of the history of Polish mathematical sciences. The presented analyses clearly show that the state of the mathematical terminology registered by Troc is strongly correlated with the processes that took place in the European and Polish science at the end of the seventeenth and the beginning of the eighteenth century. In the examined material we observe a high frequency of mathematical terms, among which geometric and arithmetic vocabulary dominates. This situation depicts the re-evaluation of the language of Polish science and the process of mathematics becoming a common and universal tool of world description.
