Summary/Abstract: The article focuses on the contribution made in the process of the technical and artistic improvement of the Romanian Panflute, by one of the most famous folk instruments craftsmen from the Republic of Moldova – G. Covaliu, and it is based on several interviews with the maestro. Certain biographical details are revealed. Having a good musical backgroud, the craftsman succeded in turning his passion for these instruments into a profession for his entire life. Nowadays, G. Covaliu is wellknown all over the world. He is considered to be one of the most reputable Panflute, Caval and Fluier craftsmen on Romanianshore. His instruments are played by the best-known artists. The article also presents some of master G. Covaliu`s opinions concerning the history and technique of manufacturing Panflutes and the types of Panpipes produced by him.
