Summary/Abstract: The article analyses the geographic world-view of Lithuanian geographer, traveller, Associate Professor Rimantas Krupickas (1945–2009). The scientific theories of the second half of the 20th century (general systems theories, theories of synergetics, chaos and nonlinear dynamics), principles of systematic thinking and the significance of the rational and irrational origin on the scientific cognition are discussed. All of this is related to the influence of the post-modern science on the scientific attitudes of the Professor. The postulates of the systems theory and systematic thinking that mostly conditioned the Professor’s attitude towards the geography are discussed in more detail. It is reflected in one of his main works – the monograph Systems Theory and Geography (2010). It is accentuated that the Professor associated systems theory and systematic thinking with the perspective of geography as the science.
