Eulogy – A Modern Variation of the Speech of Praise (Preliminaries)

Summary/Abstract: The article contains an analysis of contemporary laudatory speeches devoted to the authors of belles lettres. The reference to the species and linguistic traditions, especially the 19th century, allowed to show the characteristic rhetorical means present in eulogies and the change of the cultural convention in expressing praise.
