Summary/Abstract: The family is the first social framework that every person needs to live; it is individualized in relation to other social groups and its own style of life, language, norms, customs, values specific to the people and the social class to which it belongs. As a social phenomenon, a family is a form of social relationship between people linked to each other by marriage or kinship; this kind of relationships develops with the evolution of society adapting to them, thus acquiring a historical character. This article addresses brief notions regarding the definition, role, and purpose of the family from a legal, sociological and moral-Christian point of view. In addition, the concept of family relationships, as well as the social and legal relationships that may arise within it, will be addressed in the material.
