Summary/Abstract: This Gospel teaches us that God is the sublime end and the meaning of our existence; that it is He who not only gives us “our daily bread”, which we ask for within the Holy Prayer, but at the same time, it is He again who offers us the “bread of life” which is merely His Blood and Body which, by our sincere confession to the priest, take on to forgive our sins and for the eternal life. At the same time, this Gospel provides assurances that God is permanently looking after us, that each and every one of us have our own value even when we are hurting, starving and thirsting, or are oppressed for justice.
