Summary/Abstract: In the wake of 30th anniversary of so-called Velvet Revolution we noticed a change of the Press Act which was adopted by the National Council of Slovak Republic. This change is focused on the right to reply. Since 2011 until 2019 public dignitaries and chairmen and vice-chairmen of political parties and movements were excluded as non-entitled individuals. This change is poorly justified, comes in force just four months before parliamentary elections and after a period of political and social turmoil. This change has a potential to cause many future problems for journalists and obliged persons (publishers and press agencies). Hence, the law was objected by the mass media and by the parliamentary opposition. It is up to us to consider if freedom of press in the Slovak republic is now endangered or not.
