Media education as a determinant of modern society

Summary/Abstract: We are participants of civilization in which the development of Technologies, information and communication tools constantly sets a new challenges for modern society. These challenges make the fascination with new technologies insufficient. It is manageable to use them in various life and professional situations. The significant role in shaping those skills is Falls in education, furthermore in a special way - media education.This article attempted to close up some of the features that should characterize modern society, as well as to show the role and importance of media education in creating such a society. In the final part were recalled some Polish experiences in the field of media education.
