Working environment and the roles of factory sociologists and their professional experiences

Summary/Abstract: This article has a theoretical and practical nature and concerns the issue of work and the role of factory sociologists in socialist workplaces, as well as their involvement in the movement of company sociologists and competences in the future. The purpose of this article is to present the functions of a socialist workplace and the roles of company sociologists. The article presents the definition of a socialist workplace, the concept of a factory sociologist, his or her role in socialist enterprises, as well as the sociologist’s competences from the perspective of the profession for the future. This elaboration is the result of a nationwide project entitled: “Doyens of the Sociology of Work in Poland” as part of the Section of Sociology of Work of the Polish Sociological Association.
