Summary/Abstract: The culture of organization is a particularly crucial element for the development of an enterprise and for its superiority on the market. It forms the basis of the strategy and the image of the organization. It is often connected to human resources. The principle goal of this paper is to discuss some selected aspects related to the culture of organization of family companies, especially to one of its elements, which is the organizational atmosphere. Some special focus has been attached to the assessment of this atmosphere, as well as to the internal communication and the factors which contribute to the worker’s identification with his/her organization. The first part of the discussion deals with the essentials of a family business, the culture of organization and its atmosphere. The second part presents the results of the research which concerns the selected aspects related to the culture of organization, the organizational atmosphere of the family and non-family enterprises.
