Summary/Abstract: In the paper the idea of the Economy of Communion (EC) is presented. EC was inspired in 1991 by Chiara Lubich, a foundress and contemporary President of the Focolare Movement. The realization of this idea in the world dimension is also presented. The arguments for the Economy of Communion as an evolution of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and the new elements of the organizational culture of firms realizing this idea as the determinants of socially responsible activities are quoted. The doctrine of EC, which is worked out and based on experiences of many firms, and organizational culture are the source of considerations on the enlargement of conception of social responsibility.
