Summary/Abstract: Enterprise development cannot take place without changes. This is also true for family businesses, which in the world are the basis of the economy. The change may be related to any aspect of their operations and to manifest itself in the conversion of assets, and the relationship between them, as well as the relationship between the company and the environment. The aim of the article is to characterize the change management process in the development of a family business in a turbulent environment. The author analyzes the theoretical models of change according to Lewin and Kets de Vries, Carlock i Florent-Treacy, paying attention to the steps of performing the changes and identify potential risks and opportunities associated with it. Knowledge of the various stages of the change management process in the family business will contribute to its development through the introduction of deliberate, purposeful and staged actions in response to factors in the environment.
