Macro-prudential Regulations in the Context of Economic Determinants of Financial System Stability

Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to analyze the activities in the area of macro-prudential policy as an element affecting the stability of the financial system and to present selected economic indicators describing the conditions of the financial system stability in Poland. Article verifies the hypothesis that the financial crisis has significantly contributed to the need to strengthen macro-prudential policy, which is important for the stability of the financial system. In the article carried out analysis which mainly focuses on macro-prudential policy decisions in many EU countries as a result of the recent financial crisis. By contrast, the choice of economic indicators presented in the article was dictated by their significance for the conditions of the financial system stability in Poland.
