The Balcerowicz Plan in the Eyes of its Chosen Opponents

Summary/Abstract: In this article, the authors make an attempt to introduce chosen analysis and scientific publications regarding The Balcerowicz Plan which was an economic reform program implemented in Poland in 1989. The plan had been developed and introduced by the teamof Leszek Balcerowicz who held the office of the deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Finance in the cabinet of Tadeusz Mazowiecki. Opinions and views cited in this paper have been formulated mostly by the economists who are critical and oppose to the way the economic transformation in Poland has been made. In addition to the above survey, the authors of this paper try to deliberate on the issue of the Polish economic transformation process by evaluating the following criteria: assessment of the chosen solutions on the ground of the economic condition of Poland in the years of the transformation, its propriety and the impacton the real economic sphere.
