Summary/Abstract: Nowadays dynamic changes are taking place within the organization and in its environment of the organization and its surrounding. These transformations are concerning, among the others: changes in the legal and political regulations, the use of moderninformation and communication technologies, internationalization, virtualization and broadly understood employee diversity. The managerial staff, by recognition of the necessity ofthose inevitable changes, must transform their behavior and the way of thinking. The purpose of the article is to identify changes that are taking place in the functioning of personsmanaging the public organizations. There was taken the thesis that changes in a public administration require the transformation of management competences.
