Comparison and Evaluation of Selected Freight Exchanges on the Polish Market

Summary/Abstract: The operation of transport and forwarding companies is strongly supported bya number of information solutions; among them one of the most important are freight exchanges. Freight exchange operators ideally use the opportunities offered by modern teleinformation technology, offering access to many functions within running platforms, 24 hoursa day, seven days a week. Each company has the ability to quickly reach entities forminga transport environment regardless of their time zone and geographical space. There area number of freight exchanges on the Polish market, the most popular of which are: Trans.eu, TimoCom. Each of them has a number of functions and principles of operation that translate into advantages and disadvantages of the system. Therefore, the aim of the articleis to compare and evaluate the listed transport exchanges. A questionnaire was preparedand carried out for the implementation of the assumed task. Its main part concerned the assessment of nineteen parameters of the listed exchanges.
