Public Logistics as an Expression of Smart Governance

Summary/Abstract: Currently, all cities are seeking to be intelligent. One of the dimensions of the “intelligence” of the city is the smart governance, the realization of which means, among others, stakeholders participation in the implementation of public tasks. This participation is the essence of logistics in the public sector. Therefore, this article indicates that cooperation between the public and private sectors is one of the elements of smart solutions implementation. Logistics with its potential of contact coordination is an important source of optimization. Thus, the public logistics responds to the challenge of modern cities on meeting the growing social expectations regarding to the provision of high quality public services.
