Characteristic Features of Business Models of Family Enterprises

Summary/Abstract: Family businesses are a special type of entities. Their uniqueness stems from the coexistence of family and business interactions. The article describes the issue of the characteristic features of business models of family businesses. The author presented the results of research carried out in the period 2013–2015, which indicate that the most important element of the business model of family businesses are customer relations. Family businesses implement business models focused on long-term survival. They put customers’ needs at the center of their business model and build relations with customers based on trust. As a result, family businesses successfully implement strategies aimed at long-term functioning in the market. In summary, the author presented conclusions from the analysis.
