Warehouse Management System in the Light of Findings

Summary/Abstract: Warehouse Management System (WMS) is one of the most commonly used information systems to support warehouse management in enterprises. The article’s aim is an analysis of the importance of the WMS based on theoretical studies devoted to the issues and the practical implications of selectively cited research in this area. Among others indication of implementation of the WMS on the Polish market in enterprises according to their size and the most commonly used functionalities of the IT system for warehouse management in Polish enterprises were presented. Subsequently the benefits of WMS implementation in enterprises and barriers to achieving optimal results from the implementation of WMS in enterprises were stated.
