Summary/Abstract: The subject of the research of the theme constitutes the variety of the socio-humanistic sciences acquired through the understanding of two sectors of scientific activity - culture and art. We set out to reveal a scientific truth researched and promoted by scientists from various fields, who have learned several ways of understanding the scientific knowledge about the study of culture and the arts at different stages of development of these scientific specialties. The author follows an approach from the standpoint of the sociology of culture on the culture – art relationship, from the perspective of studying the epistemological presuppositions on culture and art. Another aspect of our approach is the conjunction of the cultural analysis with that specific to the sociology of art. The sociological approach of art is understood as an alternative discourse in relation to the humanist discourse, respectively in relation to the cultural science and the history of art.
