Estimating Costs of Machine Elements Taking into Account Planned Demand for Materials

Summary/Abstract: The article presents practical application of supply and manufacturing processes’ costs for simultaneous process of designing machine elements and processes necessary for their production. A model of determining production costs of machine elements was prepared based on the method of activity based costing, with the use of cost estimation methods for designed elements. The proposed method makes it possible to reduce production costs by decisions related to using fewer materials, eliminating or shortening duration and decreasing the use of activity resources. The proposed solutions were adapted to production systems operating in conditions of unit and small series production.
