Summary/Abstract: Entrepreneurialism drives economic growth at both local and national levels. A special role in this process is played by family firms that prevail in the sector of small and medium–sized enterprises in Poland. The dynamics and lines of development of family firms depend on internal financial, organisational and management factors, as well as on external determinants. Municipalities can influence the growth of family enterprises by using a range of fiscal and non–fiscal instruments they have at their disposal. This article aims to indicate instruments for stimulating family entrepreneurialism by municipalities, with special attention being given to financial instruments. The main research method is a descriptive method based on a synthetic analysis of the relevant literature, laws and reports on family entrepreneurialism issued by the Polish Agency for Entrepreneurship Development and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
