Summary/Abstract: Korean sculptor Do Ho Suh universally expresses the material and the spiritual value of cultural memories and reinterpret those values in the world’s most prestigious places. Do Ho Suh combines the dimensions of space with the idea of portability of physical and figurative space in his sculptures. Do Ho Suh generates the philosophy of historical transformation at the heart of cultural heritage. Do Ho Suh approaches the Korea houses, which are the most significant element of Korean culture, as an unique art object or image in connection with the redesign of the space. Do Ho Suh makes an unique interpretation on the subject, material and technical concepts of 20th century sculpture, which affects the recent history of sculpture art and determines the dialectic of the relationship between sculpture and space. Do Ho Suh’s sculptures have a meaning with their transparent and permeable forms. In this article, some examples from the sculptures of Do Ho Suh, who eccentrically redesign the space with his outstanding fiction and presentation, are stated with qualitative approach.
