Summary/Abstract: For many, the Rome represents a cradle of Western urbanisation. In Roman Law we can find beginnings of the institute of excessive immissions. In modern law, urban planning and civil law protection from excessive immissions are in mutual interaction, that sometimes puts on a face of struggle of extreme opposities. The aim of this scientific research is to investigate that interaction, tracing it back to the days of the old Rome, and following it through time all the way to the modern age, and to try, with the help of it’s past, to understand and predict it’s future.
