Summary/Abstract: Being one of the most important poets of the Romanian 80’s, who constantly refused to compromise with circumstances he did not like, Ion Monoran postponed his first book. His violent poems, with harsh and often contradictory suggestions involved in challenging lines, maintained a continuous striving condition, related to the experiences of a free (and misunderstood) mind. That is why, almost invariably, Ion Monoran’s poems rely on straight, natural notation, proving a firm denial of the easygoing theatricality.
