Summary/Abstract: The paper offers an overview of Turkish loan-words related to home and furniture in Lijevce polje and Zupa in particular cultural and historical contexts. In the past, Turkish words were borrowed mostly for things that were not hand-made at home, but had to be bought. Such products, often signifying cultural heritage of Turkish provenance, were usually characterised by mobility, which has enabled their receptivity and easy acquisition among local inhabitants. Turkish words in the Serbian language are the carriers of the collective memory connected to the historical frame within which they were adopted as products of communicational and cultural circumstances.
