To be - the foundation through the verb

Summary/Abstract: The lines below are strictly of a philologist. Of a philologist who reads and have read the Bible. The author stops on a single term, which infuses the biblical text with impressive meanings and symmetries, through the depth of the situations it covers. More precisely, it is the presence, in two contexts, of the verb to be, one of the most common words in our existence and also one of the most meaningful. Two texts from the Bible are analyzed. At the beginning of the Old Testament, after creating, through word, heaven and earth, God said, “Let there be light. And it was light ”(Fac., 1,3). The virgin Mary, at the proclamation of the archangel Gabriel, says: “Be it to me according to your word” (Luke 1:38).
