Summary/Abstract: Postmodernism is defined by reference to modernism, both as a continuation of it and in opposition to certain tendencies of it. While modernism breaks with tradition, postmodernism includes previous aesthetic experience, recovers it creatively and ironically, playfully and in a parody manner. Postmodernists give the author and literary work the lost importance, open again to the world, to the real, for example through biography and daily poetry.
