Summary/Abstract: From the perspective of hermeneutics, the short story The lucky Mill focuses on the structuring and the disagregation of a topos and some human beings involved in it. The external component and the human one enter in recurrence to highlight the intrinsic relationship which exists between man and the universe that surrounds him. The short story The lucky Mill develops just like the fairy tale, the theme of confrontation between Good and Evil, which coexists within man. Similar to the classical fairy tale, Slavici’s short story includes elements of recurrence aiming to the symmetry between the incipit – the end, the symbolic significance of topos, the magic numbers, the names which manage to shape the image of confrontation between the two binary principles: the positive and the negative.
