Summary/Abstract: To develop an intervention project on an existing historic building we need to collect as much data as possible on its evolution in time, especially if that building was nationalized. In most cases, the archive and historical studies are carried out only for listed historic monuments and rarely for other type of buildings. Usually, the person in charge of these documents is an art historian or an architect and much information stays on paper, since these specialists aren’t those who elaborate the actual intervention project. The article explores how the archive research can directly influence the intervention building design.
