The Czech Parliamentary Election of 2008 or the Crucial Eights

Summary/Abstract: In February 2008, presidential contest took place in the Czech Republic. Václav Klaus was elected for the second time. However, the circumstances of the vote have caused many doubts concerning maturity of Czech democracy. Not only bribery and blackmail of the lawmakers or lobbing were discussed but also the lack of willingness of the electors to pass this power to people along with the head of the state´s ability of mental innovations in the eve of Czech chairmanship of the European Union.
