Importance of Mediation in School Environment

Summary/Abstract: School as any other social organisation is a place, where various opinions and attitudes meet, which can lead to misunderstandings, miscommunication and communication noise in different scope and strength, which results in a conflict. One of the tools for conflict resolution is a method of mediation. It is considered to be a means of conflict recognition for pupils and students, who then learn to solve a conflict on their own without disciplinary actions. Peer mediators manage the process and help during mutual interactions to come to mutual agreement. The process is voluntary, based on good will and interest of young people to solve the interpersonal relations´ issues.
