Summary/Abstract: In the article author accomplished a complex overview of historical and contemporary opinions of geographers on the essence of two phenomena: landscape and borderland. The overview served as a basis of author’s own definition of the term „borderland landscape” that synthesizes most essential conceptual strands of both of elaborated phenomena.
