Summary/Abstract: This articles has in center the feminine protagonist both in popular literature and literary creations. The heroine of Meşterul Manole can be viewed as a cinematographical projection, having its roots in the popular ballad. The heroine cannot be defined from a single perspective (the sacrifice, the play or the giving); her determination is the fact that it is a character, which some may ignore, but having an axiological reference effect in contemporary value systems. The idea of theatre in theatre is not visible, being only suggested, the character – Mira – does not accept any travesty
