Summary/Abstract: In this article we intend to throw light on a more sensitive subject which unfortunately was less discussed and that is the railway from our country, more exactly, from the Trotus valley. Although buried in the ash of the years, the name of the great engineer, Elie Radu, should not be forgotten. His benefactions/good deeds and work worthy of admiration urges us, in sign of gratitude, to pay homage. Resisting hard times, the impressive buildings and railway networks contributed both to the beauty of the country and to the increase of national economy. Coordinated by Anghel Saligny and Elie Radu, the construction works of sections Adjud – Târgu Ocna and Târgu Ocna – Ghimeş had a great importance in World War II. At the same time, along the railway, the buildings of C.F.R. stations including the railway stations Comanesti and Brusturoasa with former name „Elie Radu” had been built. The railway station from Comanesti is very similar to the railway station from Curtea de Arges and it is believed to be the replica of the railway station from Lausane, supposing that the drawing had had a Swiss origin. The architect who worked with Elie Radu is Giulio Magni known as the architect of most of the Romanian railway stations as well as he who build Elie Radu‘s house. He was a supporter of progress in technology and for the next generations he is a model for his honesty in using the public funds. The Romanian architecture preserves some of the most beautiful memories of the engineer’s hard work. We will always remember his contribution to the prestige of the Romanian engineering school and his strive to promote and stimulate it.
