Summary/Abstract: Considering the requirements for improving LSP teaching to Romanian students, the differences between mother tongue and two foreign languages (English and French) as well as the mistakes made by our learners to produce sentences in technical and scientific foreign languages, the authors have turned their interest to the study of the way a set of verbal groups are rendered in English, French and Romanian in LST texts. The main purpose of the article is to describe and define the characteristics of these groups by performing a minimal contrastive analysis as one can find them in technical texts and to point to the way students can easier learn and use them. We have chosen for analysis the use of the infinitive mood or of a personal mood as direct object or direct object sentence required by a regent verb, that is the head of the construction. With respect to LST, the authors have limited their analysis to declarative, factitive verbs as other categories (sensory, will verbs) are less represented in the technical texts.
