Core Security Elements of a New NATO Strategic Concept

Summary/Abstract: The article reviewed the Strategic Concept and identified a number of areas in need of reassessment and have reached the following conclusions and recommendations; the next Strategic Concept needs to acknowledge the expected consequences of the global trends in the next decades, specifically changes in demography and the climate as they influence and very often enhance the potential of other risks. Furthermore, a new Strategic Concept should also emphasize emerging challenges that have appeared since 1999.
