Operational Environment Regarding to its Complexity

Summary/Abstract: The article includes insights into the „operational environment“(OE), its complexity, dynamism, and development of its individual elements, that are intrinsically linked. The first and second sections contain theses from doctrines based on SR and allied joint publications (AJP). Main part of the article describes the OE variable factors such as political environment - elements of stability of the state, socio-demographic environment, physical environment, the security environment, information environment and economic environment. The result is an environment that can be defined as „mix' of the terms and conditions that affect the use of military force and commanders decision-making process. It is very difficult to define and analyze the complex crisis. Good knowledge of operational environment, understanding of the complexity and interrelationships between elements of the operational environment is the foundation of all operations.
