In the eraof prevailing consumerism, this multitude of informationcreates new, artificial needs that bring chaos to the children’sworld. Human needs, as presented by Maslow, startingwith physiological needs, through the need of safety, belonging, love, respect, knowledge and recognition arebeing redefined and disorganised in common understanding. The following considerations outline the result of theanalysis of the content and form of several popular culturetexts selected from among all the texts available on the Polishmarket – the Świerszczyk magazine, aimed at children.
