Summary/Abstract: During the nineteen-sixties the beat music style appearing in Western-Europe didn’t let unaff ected the countries of theeastern block, in spite of the fact, that the socialist countries tried to forbid every initiative coming from the west. Nationwide,one of the most successful youth organization was the Siculus youth club from Odorheiu Secuiesc. Here was formed the citadelof the Hungarian pop music (beat music) in Romania, by the organization of the Siculus festival. Due to this event, in theHungarian press in Romania began to appear in line the articles, which displayed and interpreted the new musical trend, andwhich highlighted or the negative, either the positive side of the beat music.
