Summary/Abstract: The Prague Jewish Museum, which now oversees one of the largest collections of Judaica in the world, has undergone a turbulent history since its foundation in 19062 and has played a significant role in the development of research into the history and culture of the Jews in the Bohemian lands. The primary goal of this paper is to highlight the development of historical research and other disciplines in this institution from the end of the SecondWorldWar until the present time; the development of research in the previous period will also be briefly touched upon. Emphasis will be placed on the topics that have been studied here, as well as expert profiles of the most prominent researchers. The scholarly research will be described in the context of the development of an institution that often had to fight for its existence and for a meaningful character.
