Summary/Abstract: This study was made with the aim of analyzing the musical culture of Meskhetian Turks living in Erzurum within the context of acculturation phenomenon. In accordance with this purpose, as a result of the area study conducted towards the Meskhetian Turks, who were determined to be living in the city center and villages of Erzurum and who could be reached, an overall evaluation of the folk songs in the CD album titled Oltu Folk Songs (Halays), which was published with the support of Erzurum’s Oltu District Municipality in 2013, was made and in Erzurum’s Şenkaya District Gaziler (Bardiz) village 4 folk songs, 2 of which are anonymous and 2 of which are personal, were compiled and notated. After this, these compiled folks songs were analyzed in terms of their musical features. Moreover, some evaluations about the general cultural characteristics of the Meskhetian Turks living in Erzurum were made. The study was made using the survey model, which is one of the forms of qualitative research. In the study, various information to depict both the historical process of the community, which is the research subject, and to depict their current state that we see today was given. After this, more detailed data regarding the research subject was obtained using the unstructured interview technique. To analyze the data obtained as a result of the study, descriptive analysis method was used. The population of the study is Meskhetian Turks and the sample of the study is the Meskhetian Turkish community living within the borders of Erzurum. Within this context, ‘purposeful sampling’ model was used in the study. As part of the acculturation phenomenon, the conclusion has been reached that there are some differences between the old traditions and musical culture pertaining to Meskhetian Turks and the traditions and musical culture today. It has also been inferred that this fact is a result of the cultural interaction Meskhetian Turks had with the communities they met in the areas they moved to. In the context of this research subject, it has been foreseen that a lot more significant data can be obtained on the subject in case detailed field study is conducted on Meskhetian Turks and the musical culture of this community.
