Application of Selected Statistical and Econometric Methods in the Analysis of Senior Tourism Activities in Poland

Summary/Abstract: Purpose of this paper is to present an analysis of the dependences between a variable determining occurrence of a tourist trip and economic and socio-demographic variables that characterize households of seniors in Poland. The study is based on statistical data regarding tourist trips taken by members of households, where half of the household is of the age of 60 or more years. It has been culled from a survey performed in 2009 by the National Statistical Office, called „Tourism and leisure at households”. In researches about significance of factors determining occurrence of a tourist trip were used X2 independence test and logit model.
