Local People’s Religious Tourism View in Terms of Special Interest Tourism: The Case of TRNC

Summary/Abstract: Religious Tourism can be considered as people visiting the religions because of their religious beliefs or curiosity. The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus is a very important country because of, it has a rich historical past which is a center of culture and belief, which includes different civilizations and states. The ruins of different civilizations have increased the importance of the country in terms of Religious tourism. The aim of this study is to determine the conceptual importance of Religious tourism which is important for country tourism and opinions of local people about Religious tourism. Also, it is to emphasize the importance of tourism and increase awareness Religious tourism. In this study, two different methods were used. First, the data to be obtained were evaluated by SWOT analysis method. Secondly, SPSS and AMOS were used for statistical analysis. As a result of the study, it has been concluded that the belief that tourism is important for the development of the country is favored and supported by the local people. In addition, 96 29 male and 89 female participants of the 296 individuals who participated in the study were of the opinion that some religious works were important for the country's religious tourism.
