THE ROLE AND IMPORTANCE OF THE DOCTRINE IN THE NEW WAR PARADIGM

Summary/Abstract: The good management of military operations in the present and future conflict zones is bound not only by the best knowledge and by understanding the possibilities of manifestation of the violence in the contemporary world, but also by ensuring the foundation for the decision makers initiative to be applied with confidence. To be able to find the most appropriate answers to the great variety of contemporary wars, both in their traditional, conventional, as well as non-traditional, irregular forms, the military institution is concerned with the continued relevance of categories of doctrine, organization, training, materiel, leadership and education, personnel, and facilities. Between them, the doctrine is usually the first approach taken to trigger changes required to preserve the relevance and effectiveness of the military organization as a whole.
