Summary/Abstract: The aim of this Pilot Survey was to test the metric characteristics of an instrument for assessing the correlation of family upbringing when adopting values, habits and role models in young people. Pilot watch was conducted in May 2016 and data were collected through a survey. The sample consists of 84 subjects, which is about 17% of the assumed sample, comprising 54.76% women (N = 46) and 45.24% men (N = 40). The reliability of an instrument comprising 4 variables with 48 particles was determined by the Cronbach´Alpha coefficient and is extremely high (λ =, 935). The four variables offered are: values, habits, role models adopted in the family, and as a fourth variable, respondents were offered the opportunity to self-evaluate (self image). The survey data processed indicate high reliability, homogeneity and factor saturation of the scales used. The findings justify the use of the Family Education Questionnaire as part of a battery of instruments exploring the potential effect of family education on the values and attitudes of healthy young people in Herzegovina.
