Summary/Abstract: What is the difference between the doctrine of predestination and that of the choice from the Protestant theology and how are these two related to the doctrine of justification? Can we put an equality sign between double predestination, predestination and God’s choosing man from eternity, according to modern Protestant theology? To what extent the issue of justification, initiated by St. Augustine and developed by Thomas Aquinas, and medieval Catholic scholasticism can be found in modern Protestantism? These are just some questions that the study aims to provide orthodox critical answers, limiting its research field at the thinking of Protestant theologian Emil Brunner, Professor of Dogmatic at the Theological Faculty of Zurich University between 1924-1953. Answers in the text below are formulated from the perspective of patristic theology of Eastern thought.
