Summary/Abstract: Over time, Banat was called the region at the edge of empires, because in this geographical space, bordered by Mures, Tisa rivers and Danuberivers, civilizations and cultures merged. This cultural symbiosis was possibledue to the historical developments of the area and due to the various dominionsand influences that have succeeded here over time, and remains a mark of thisregion up to this day, being proved by the ethnic diversity from Banat and bythe multicultural expressions existing here. It is understandable that such aspace generated a rich theological activity of which little is known today, bothfrom a epistemological perspective and from a chronological one. What waswritten in Romanian and what are the first theological projects developed inBanat? What value and how creative were these theological works? What werethe main towns and areas in which this theological activity gain momentum? Here are some of the questions that the present study aims to answer in short. The conclusions constitute a starting point for a more comprehensive research, which would group and evaluate the theological writings from Banat, highlighting the importance and the impact of these texts. It should be noted thatthe present study is limited and considers only the Romanian-language theological literature printed in Banat – without any references to the printingactivity from Arad – until 1948.
