Summary/Abstract: This article pertains to the information about the religious situation and church unions in Transcarpathia area. The analysis of sources shows almost a overall lack of interest in these matters in historical and religious literature in the Republic of Poland (Rzeczpospolita). An attempt to explain the reasons why the area of Transcarpathia did not interest Polish and Ruthenian polemical and historical writings in the 17th – 18th century.
