Summary/Abstract: In this contribution, we propose to study the functioning of an event designator, "Yellow jackets", whose use is quite remarkable in the media discourse since the start of a protest movement, initially born against the rise in fuel prices, in October 2018. This contribution is an opportunity for us to look back at the process of the event and more particularly at the path that the term "yellow jackets" has taken in the written press, because "the event is not only ‘what happens’, but also how it is told when it is ‘grasped’ by the discourse and communication".
